Yesterday the family announced that the alleged viewing will not take place. "Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland," their rep told Usmagazine.com. "Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly." The LA Times reported that the family was considering holding a public service at the Staples Center in LA, although AEG, which owns the building, said they haven't been contacted about booking the venue. Meanwhile, E! reports that rumors Jackson will be buried at Neverland are false. The site quotes sources which say that Jackson will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuaries in the Hollywood Hills, where his body is currently being held. No exact date for the funeral has been announced although insiders say it could occur Friday.

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that the announcement that Michael Jackson's body would be open for public viewing at the Neverland Ranch tomorrow has been great news for hotels near the Santa Barbara mansion. The Fess Parker Wine Country Inn in Los Olivos, CA, which is less than a mile from Neverland, tells the site that they sold out of rooms just 20 minutes after the announcement was made. Two other hotels in the area are also booked solid.
