It was the year Jake decided he would dress up as Pee Wee Herman:

"It was Halloween and this was right around the time I started playing music so I had my own little PA system and I set it up out on the deck. My brother kept saying, 'Man, we got all these people here, we've got a keg on the deck, you don't need to be drawing attention to our party.' I'm like, 'No people wanna rock they wanna hear good music.' So I was out there playing 'Dixie Land Delight' I think it was right about the time the blue lights showed up. And everybody scattered and ran and I couldn't go anywhere because I had a guitar strapped around my neck plugged into a PA system. So I'll never forget it, man. I got arrested dressed up like Pee Wee Herman."
