TRAVOLTA RESPONDS TO MISTRIAL!
John Travolta is, needless to say, not happy that a mistrial was declared in the extortion case against Tarino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater. A rep for the actor released the following statement, "We are disappointed to hear about the alleged juror misconduct since we know that the Bahamian government, the court, the other jurors and John Travolta as the victim want to have this matter adjudicated through the judicial system. Mr. Travolta has and will continue to cooperate with the Bahamian authorities in the prosecution of the defendants for extortion." Later, Travolta's attorney Mike Ossi told People, "He was upset as he wanted closure. The family wants to privately begin the long and difficult healing process - as well as to properly honor Jett's memory - without the cloud of this litigation over their heads." So far no date for a retrial has been set.
