George Strait is now the King of Music, period. Strait's single "I Saw God Today" has become his 56th number one single, which gives him the distinction of having the most chart-topping songs for any artist in any genre. The singer says he's fortunate to have found so much quality material over the course of his career. Strait also gives a nod to his fans, thanking them for the success of the tune. He says having a number one hit is special any time it happens. He adds that "I Saw God Today" is, quote, "a beautifully written song which reaches very tender places in many people's hearts." The performer also congratulates the tune's writers, Rodney Clawson, Monty Criswell, and Wade Kirby, on penning the song. This is Strait's second honor in recent weeks. His album "Troubadour," which was released on April 1st, debuted at the top of the "Billboard/R&R" all genre 200 Chart and its Country Album Chart.
