Garth Brooks is the recipient of the first-ever Academy of Country Music Crystal Milestone Award.

It will be presented during the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on May 18th. Garth will perform a special medley of his greatest hits during the live CBS telecast. Garth acknowledges that the ACM has always been a great supporter of his career. The singer says he's, quote, "flattered and humbled by what this award means," and adds that he'll, quote, "continue to work my butt off to make sure they are happy with their choice." T he award is given to an artist or industry leader to commemorate a specific, remarkable achievement. Brooks is the only solo artist in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America to have six albums each surpass the ten-million mark in sales. He has won 18 ACM awards, including Artist of the Decade in 1998. The 43rd annual ACM Awards will air live on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on May 18th. Reba McEntire will return for the tenth time to host the event.
