Though Adkins has appeared on a number of television shows, this will be his first time to appear on a soap opera. On his Young and the Restless stint, the 46-year-old singer will be featured in a storyline in which he will help Nick Newman Joshua Morrow surprise his wife Phyllis Michelle Stafford for their first anniversary. Adkins will be singing his latest number 1 single “You're Gonna Miss This,”.

Most recently, Adkins became a contestant on NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice, in which he played for his selected charity, the Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, which provides education, advocacy and research support to families dealing with the daily nightmare of serious and life-threatening food allergies. He made it to the finale as one of the two finalists. Unfortunately, Donald Trump ultimately "hired" Adkins' rival, tabloid editor Piers Morgan, who had his own charity.

Additionally, Adkins also served as a panelist on game shows like Hollywood Squares and Pyramid. He also wrote an autobiography entitled A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Free-Thinking Roughneck, which was released in late 2007.

Meanwhile, The Young and the Restless isn't Adkins' only upcoming TV gig. He will also appear on E! Network's Chelsea Lately on May 5 and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on May 8.
