Tim McGraw will be making his debut on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this weekend -- but not as the musical guest. He's slated to host the show. The singer's "SNL" stint is stemming from his acting career, and comes just days before his next film, "Four Christmases," opens in theaters. McGraw has said that he's looking forward to the appearance but admits he's not exactly known for comedy. However, he adds that he hopes the time he's spent with his "Four Christmases" co-stars Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon, and Jon Favreau has been, quote, "good training" for the sketch comedy show. This week's "SNL" musical guests are rappers Ludacris and T-Pain.

McGraw is only the fifth country singer to host "Saturday Night Live," and the first to do so in nearly ten years. Garth Brooks was the last country star to take the helm for the show. He's done it twice -- in November 1999 and February 1998. Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson have also serves as "Saturday Night Live" hosts.
