Tim McGraw Talks Turkey
from GACTV.comTim McGraw gobbled up airtime on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this weekend singing one verse of "Real Bad Man" in the opening monologue, playing hick gambler Duane Bodine in a James Bond skit and dressing up as a turkey under fire from a hunter.
The turkey skit was a nod to the impending Thanksgiving holiday, which has a traditional feel at the home he shares with Faith Hill.
"This Thanksgiving, we're gonna be out of town, but usually it's family," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "It's just like everybody else. It's about family and either going to family's house or having family over at our place. The kids getting to reconnect with aunts and uncles and cousins and friends that sometimes you don't get to connect with unless it's that time of the year. And certainly what it means is giving thanks."
With a limping economy and rising unemployment, this might well be a year when many people discover the financial part of their lives are not the most important component.
"This year [Thanksgiving is] gonna be a lot more special for a lot of families because it certainly is a time to sort of re-evaluate and really step back and take a look at the things that you do have and the life you do have and start thinking about the life that some other people don't have," Tim observed.
Tim and Faith certainly have plenty to be thankful for. Forbes magazine just ranked them No. 4 among the top-earning celebrity couples, estimating their one-year haul at $35 million. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman placed No. 8 on that list, at $25 million.
On Thanksgiving Eve, Tim's latest movie makes its debut. Four Christmases also includes Dwight Yoakam in an all-star cast with Robert Duvall, Reese Witherspoon, Mary Steenburgen, Jon Voight, Vince Vaughn and Sissy Spacek.
