Reba McEntire Explains Gap Between Solo CDs
Reba McEntire says she didn't intend for so much time to pass between her solo projects. The singer is currently working on a new album, which will be the follow up to 2003's "Room to Breathe." She notes that time just flew by since that release, explaining that she was busy with her sitcom, "Reba," which began in 2001 and ran for six seasons, as well as her 2005 best-of collection "Reba #1's" and her "Reba: Duets" disc. McEntire says she's enjoying putting together her new album, and is having fun with the song selection. She explains, quote, "With the 'Duets' project, I had to think about whether the song would work as a duet, or work for the other artists. This time, I really got to think about just great songs." Reba adds that she's "really pleased" with the material she has for her new effort, and notes that she's even done some writing for the project. McEntire's new album will be her first for Valory Music. She signed on with the young company in November. Her still untitled CD is expected to be released in the summer. advertisement
