The singer has signed a publishing deal with Thomas Nelson for four works of fiction. Her first novel in the four-book series is expected to hit stores later this year. Evans describes the effort as a, quote, "emotional, Southern-flavored, multi-generational tale, featuring a compelling love story," noting she's basing the plot and characters on the people she knew and the things she experienced as she grew up. She adds, quote, "This is the kind of book I love to read and share." Evans is collaborating on her books with author Rachel Hauck, whose titles include "Diva NashVegas" and "Love Starts with Elle." The release of the still-untitled novel is planned to coincide with Evans' next album. The upcoming effort will be the singer's first collection of all new material since 2005's "Real Fine Place."
