Craig Morgan wins 15th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards with Video of the Year

One of country music's best-loved artists, Grand Ole Opry member Craig Morgan walked away from last night's 15th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards with Video of the Year honors, taking home the prize for his poignant clip for his hit single "God Must Really Love Me."
"I didn't write this song," Craig says of his award-winning single, "But the first time I heard it, I knew I had to record it. The message that there is somebody looking out for everyone, no matter what, really rang true, especially in these tough times we're having in this country. I wanted to share that inspiration with the fans, and Eric [Welch, the video director] did a phenomenal job of interpreting the song. I'm so honored that the ICM recognized us with this award."
Craig is currently on tour supporting his 5th studio album, That's Why, released on BNA Records. His current single, "Bonfire," one of the fastest-rising of his career, is at #12* and rapidly climbing Billboard's Top Country Songs chart.
Craig felt it was important to pair a strong prevention message with "Bonfire," and partnered with The Advertising Council to release a series of radio PSAs about wildfire prevention. Those PSAs were distributed to radio stations nationwide last week, and are available on the Ad Council's fulfillment website, http://psacentral.adcouncil.org.
In other Craig Morgan news, it was announced this week that Craig will travel overseas later this month to entertain our US troops in Iraq and Germany, his 6th trip to visit the men and women of the armed forces since 2002. Craig spent 10 years on active duty in the US Army before launching his music career, and knows first-hand what it's like to be deployed overseas. He was awarded the 2006 USO Merit Award for his tireless support of US soldiers and their families. This month's overseas visit is sponsored by nonprofit entertainment organization Stars for Stripes, along with GAC TV and Armed Forces Entertainment. High Five Entertainment will film the trip for a one-hour GAC television special, airing in December, documenting the visit.
