Eric Church and Trace Adkins are taking part in NASCAR races at Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend. Adkins has been tapped to sing the national anthem at the start of the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dollar General 300, which takes place at the Charlotte, North Carolina racetrack today. On Saturday Church is slated to play a concert as part of the pre-race show in advance of the NASCAR Banking 500. He notes the show means a great deal to him. The Granite Falls, North Carolina native admits that growing up in that area makes it "a given" that he'd be a NASCAR fan, noting, quote, "I've been to this very race many times with my dad. To be able to go back and play is a very special homecoming for me."

Trace Adkins' appearance on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," in which he participated in a build for a disabled Dallas police officer, will debut on Sunday.
