Carrie Underwood's HUGE Surprise At The Opry!
Carrie Underwood has another honor coming her way. On Saturday night she listened in awe as Randy Travis invited her to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. Underwood had just finished singing "I Told You So," a song made famous by Travis, who she really admires. Carrie says she was thrilled he was the one who asked her to join the Opry. Randy came out on stage and told Carrie, quote, "That's a better performance than I will ever do of that song. Thank you. I'm honored." Then he popped the question -- "Would you like to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry?" It was a great birthday present for Underwood, who turned 25 last Monday. Backstage Carrie said she had no idea an Opry invitation was coming her way. She says she has watched people perform there and hoped one day she would get to be a member. Her official induction will take place on May 10th. Watch video below: Carrie performs "I Told You So" (originally done by Randy Travis), and is then asked by Randy Travis himself to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.

What others are saying
- She's done so much for country music in the past 2 or 3 years! She deserves it just for what she's done for country let a lone the fact that she's incredible talented and humble.
- Carrie loves the Opry.she appeared on the show many times.she loves country music.she honors country music.so of course SHE DESERVES TO BE INVITED!!!
- Oh Please..Seriously, she has only been in the music business for what? 3 years? Way too early for her.
It's a darn shame because Opry isn't even that big of a deal anymore - now that is just my opinion. - Are you kidding me? It took them how many years to ask charlie daniels and now they wanna put carrie in No way they are crazy? They should induct Miranda Lambert and a few others first.
- No Way!Are you kidding me??? I am shocked!! She has along way to go before she should be inducted. Oh well, I guess Opry needs to make buck or two so why not.
- CarrieCarrie is a beautiful young women who was blessed with an amazing voice and if anyone deserves this it is her. The Grand Ole Opry invited her for a reason. She is going to be around a very long time.
- Carrie+OpryOf course she deserved being invited.Carrie has been a breath of fresh air for country music all across the nation. She make a fine addition to the roster.
- Go Carrie!!!!Carrie so DESERVES it! She is amazing, and it's great to see how down to earth she is.....Go Carrie!
- Carrie and grand ole opry inductionCarrie TOTALLY deserves this induction... she has worked hard since her AI win... she is not just a contest winner but a true performer and country music is so blessed to have her as part of their genre! I am so proud to be a Carrie Underwood fan since day 1 when she auditioned in St. Louis for AI!
- Carrie Underwoods Opry InviteAbsolutely she deserves this invitation. She has an amazing voice and loves performing at the Opry. Way to go CARRIE!
- Carrie OpryCarrie is so Opry worthy, she sells the joint out everytime she is there, she is committed to the Opry and is dedicated to the traditions held by the Opry. Maybe George Stait isn't a member because he doesn't want to commit to performing there as often as you need to in order to become a member.
- Carrie OpryWhat? Why? She has a long way to go to be Opry worthy! George Strait isn't even a member yet! I like her okay but Opry worthy? I don't think so.
- love it!I'm so glad she cried (happy tears, of course) when he asked her! It's kinda early in her career for this, but she certainly deserves it!
