Kenny Chesney Plays Longest Show Ever!
His "Keg in the Closet" show in Key West began at 5:30 p.m. and didn't end until 10:00 p.m!
Fans began lining up at 4:00 a.m., and when Sloppy Joe's in Key West, Florida opened at 10:00 a.m. Kenny Chesney's "Keg in the Closet" show was already sold out. The next best thing for fans was to line the streets, and that's what they did in hopes of catching a few strains of music coming from Chesney's show that night. Kenny declared the scene "insane," saying no one anticipated that the area streets would become so packed they'd have to be shut down. Chesney's show began at 5:30 p.m. and didn't end until 10:00 p.m. Kenny notes it's the longest he and the band have ever played. He had a few guests to help him remember songs, including songwriters Paul Overstreet and Scotty Emerick. Paul helped sing the Randy Travis tune he penned, "Diggin' Up Bones," while Scotty jumped in on his Toby Keith hit "I Love This Bar." The show at Sloppy Joe's closed out Chesney's fifth annual Keg in the Closet tour. Now Kenny is back to final preparations for his "Poets & Pirates" tour, which kicks off April 18th in Uncasville, Connecticut. WATCH VIDEO: Kenny Chesney doing a cover of John Mellencamp's "Hurt So Good" at Sloppy Joe's in Key West, FL on March 15, 2008. Kenny and his band put on a free concert and played for over 4 1/2 hours, breaking their own record as a band. This video is around 3 hr, 45 min into the show, and as you can tell Kenny has pretty much lost his voice by this point.
