There's a hidden lift that brings KENNY CHESNEY up to the stage to begin his concert, but on Saturday night, something went wrong. As he was being lifted to the stage in Columbia, South Carolina, Kenny's foot was caught and crushed. It happened during "Live Those Songs Again." Kenny fought through the pain and finished his set. As soon as it was over, doctors were waiting on the side of the stage to cut off his boot and tend to his foot to minimize damage. Prior to the show, there was a Next Big Star competition at the South Carolina Fairgrounds. The winner of the contest got an opening slot for Kenny's concert, that night. Toward the end of the competition, a guy in cut-offs and a ball cap came out on stage to perform but he was quite ineligible to win.. it was Kenny, himself, crashing the contest, much to the delight of the fans who'd gathered there.
