Toby Keith Honors Friend, Sings At Funeral of NBA Great Wayman Tisdale
Former NBA star Wayman Tisdale died at age 44 on the morning of May 15th from complications from cancer.
Tisdale was not only a NBA player but also a smooth jazz bass guitarist and a member of the Oklahoma Tourism Board. Country music star and fellow Oklahoman Toby Keith and Tisdale were close friends. Toby sang on one of Tisdale's albums...covering the Barry White classic "Never Gonna Give You Up ." At Tisdale's funeral Toby played the Willie Nelson tune, "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground." He said he had written a song about Tisdale, but that he wouldn't be performing it given the emotion of the day. "We had so many big plans," Keith told mourners. "Every time I tried to say goodbye to him, he never let me." Below is a video of Toby's performance. Toby was obviously very emotional.

I do not understand death and disease but I do believe God has one of the best right by his side and along with all the other greats that have past. I would say God has the best bands in heaven.
