WHO DROPPED THE DIME ON LOCKLEAR?
When Heather Locklear was arrested on suspicion of DUI and being under the influence of a controlled substance in Santa Barbara last month, most of the talk revolved around Locklears mental and physical state. Now, the buzz has shifted to who placed the 911 call that led to the arrest, and what the caller's motivation might have been. TMZ.com reports that the caller was a former Us Weekly staffer, who watched a seemingly impaired Locklear get into her car and called authorities. Her next call, they claim, was to a paparazzi agency.
SKETCHY WITNESS NO BEARING ON LOCKLEAR ARREST!
Yesterday, TMZ reported that the "concerned citizen" who called 911 on Heather Locklear was actually a former US Weekly reporter named Jill Ishkanian who had been following the actress. In fact, the site claims Jill was the one who tipped off the paparazzi who got pictures of the arrest. They even claimed that nobody but Ishkanian saw Heather driving erratically, sparking questions as to the validity of the arrest. Well, a spokesperson for California Highway Patrol tells TMZ that the identity of the 911 caller will have no bearing on the case, and that the decision as to whether or not to prosecute Locklear will be based on her drug tests. In addition, the CHP spokesperson says that other people have since contacted them with stories that corroborate Ishkanian's account of what happened.

Simpson hesitated before saying, "no comment."

"Yes, the public definitely care about Miley Cyrus," says Gerry Philpott. In fact, among Americans over age 13, 60 percent knew who she was even before she posed for Vanity Fair. "After Vanity Fair and her tour last year, Miley is now at 70 percent awareness," Philpott says. "People are still interested in her, no doubt." Pardon us for saying this Mr. Philpott, but being "aware" of a celeb doesn't mean we "care" about the celebrity.

FATAL ACCIDENT HALTS ROCK OF LOVE!
Production on the upcoming season of Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels has been halted after a crew member fell asleep while driving a production vehicle and crashed into another car, killing two 19-year-old girls. The accident occurred on Friday. "As a father of two, I cannot even imagine what the families must be going through at this time," said Michaels in a statement. The New York Post claims that the couple, who just welcomed twins in July, is considering adopting a child from Namibia, where their first biological daughter, Shiloh, was born. SHARON STONE'S A BAD BAD MOM!
Some more information has come to light regarding Sharon Stone's recent custody battle with ex-husband Phil Bronstein. Sharon had reportedly requested a court allow the couple's eight-year-old son Roan attend school in Los Angeles near Sharon, as opposed to San Francisco near Phil. Well, the court shot her down, and TMZ has gotten a hold of the "Tentative Statement of Decision" which was very critical of Sharon's parental skills. Among the allegations, the judge states "Mother appears to overreact to many medical issues involving Roan." In one case, Stone reportedly believed Roan had a spinal condition, even though "there was no evidence to support this allegation." In another instance, the judge reported, that "Mother suggested that Roan should have Botox injections in his feet to resolve a problem he had with foot odor." Dad Phil simply suggested Roan wore socks with his shoes and used foot deodorant. Finally Sharon apparently claimed that she put her career on hold for Roan, but the court felt, "if Mother has, in fact, limited her career to make herself available for Roan, she has done little to make this evident to Roan, his school or this Court." The court said she "delegates many of her parenting responsibilities to third parties" and has "simply refused" to take part in counseling unless her "schedule is accommodated and her demands are met."

LOCKLEAR ARREST CAUGHT ON FILM!
It's embarrassing enough for Heather Locklear that she was arrested for DUI over the weekend, but now TMZ has gotten its hands on pictures of her arrest. The photos include the Melrose Place star in handcuffs, taking a breathalyzer and a field sobriety test. According to the LA Times, Heather was arrested when a "concerned citizen" called the cops after seeing the actress driving "erratically" in a parking lot. Locklear was spotted driving back and forth over a pair of sunglasses and revving the engine of her car. The citizen (who was probably TMZ's paparazzi) followed Heather out of the parking lot and saw her step out of her car and into traffic. When cops finally caught Heather she was parked on a highway lane and blocking traffic. Click Here to see the photos. Incidentally, one photo shows Heather wearing a big diamond ring on her finger that looks suspiciously like an engagement ring.

"There is such a tape, but I won't discuss prices for hypothetical inquiries," said Adnan. "Unless there is a locked-in deal, I will go no further." An unconfirmed source says the two-hour tape was shot while the pair vacationed together in Mexico.

Dennis Quaid isn't very happy that his ex-wife Meg Ryan recently gave an interview where she dished about his infidelity. Ryan told InStyle, "Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very painful." Well, Quaid is incensed that she's talking about him. "It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship," he told the New York Daily News. "Also I find it regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce." Quaid, who is now married to Kimberly Buffington, with whom he has 10-month-old twins, adds, "I myself, have moved on years ago and am fortunate to have a happy, beautiful family."

Acting legend Paul Newman passed away Friday at the age of 83. In 1986, he received an honorary Oscar and in 1994, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded him the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, for his charitable work, which began in 1982 when he started selling salad dressing under the name Newman's Own, with all proceeds going to charity. The company eventually expanded to other products and by 2007 they had donated more than $250 million to various charities. In addition, in 1988 he founded the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut for children with cancer and life threatening diseases. Similar camps have now been set up in other states, as well as Europe. Remembering his good friend and Butch Cassidy co-star, Robert Redford released a statement saying, "There is a point where feelings go beyond words. I have lost a real friend. My life and this country is better for his being in it." Newman is survived by his wife of 50 years Joanne Woodward, as well as his five daughters. His only son, Scott Newman, died from an accidental drug overdose in 1978.

BLAINE BLAMES THE PRESIDENT!
David Blaine got bad reviews for his latest stunt, in which he hung in the air for 60 non-consecutive hours. It was so bad, that the big finale, which was dubbed the Dive of Death, got booed by New Yorkers who were watching it live. Well, Blaine is not accepting blame for failing miserably. In fact, he's blaming President Bush. "What was actually meant to happen was I meant to dive down to the platform beneath and then sweep away into the night's sky attached to a bunch of balloons," Blaine told a TMZ cameraman. He says the delay caused by Bush's 15 minute speech forced him to cancel the dramatic ending because the wind had picked up, making it dangerous.

CLAY AIKEN GOT HALF A MIL FOR HIS PEOPLE PHOTOS
While Clay Aiken's coming out announcement was interesting in and of itself, more compelling is the backstory behind the People magazine deal that makes him this weekend's cover boy. Apparently, the economy isn't just having an impact on Wall Street -- it's affecting the celebrity magazine world, too. Exclusive photos of Clay and his son, Parker, went for an underwhelming amount compared to the multimillion-dollar price tag that accompanies a Jennifer Lopez or Jolie-Pitt agreement. Aikens deal cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $500,000, according to several sources privy to the negotiations.
... The low dollar amount wasn't necessarily due to waning interest in Aiken -- one editor admitted that his magazine had been trying to get the singer to do a tell-all for a substantial sum long before the baby was in the picture. Instead, People had little competition for the photos, and in turn, no one to drive the price up.

GAY CLAY GRATEFUL FOR SUPPORT!
Clay Aiken is overwhelmed by the support he's already received just one day after he admitted in People magazine that he is gay. "We'll 'talk' more later," Aiken wrote on his message board yesterday, "but, suffice it to say, for the first time in recent memory, I am speechless. I'm so proud to know and love all of you." He adds, "My family is so much larger than Parker, Jaymes, mom, Brett, etc. It extends to each of you. And I couldn't be more blessed."
WHAT'D THEY PUT IN THE WATER?: KIDMAN CREDITS AUSSIE WATERALL WITH PREGNANCY!
Nicole Kidman says she has water to thank for getting pregnant with daughter Sunday Rose. The actress, who's married to Keith Urban, tells Australian Women's Weekly that she and six other women swam in the waters of the Australian Outback and they all got knocked up. "I never thought I would become pregnant and give birth to a child but it happened on this movie," said Kidman, talking about the upcoming Baz Luhrmann film Australia. "Seven babies were conceived out of this film and only one was a boy. There is something up there in the Kununurra water because we all went swimming in the waterfalls, so we can call it the fertility waters now." The press often commented on how small Nicole's baby bump was during the pregnancy, something Nicole has a perfectly good explanation for. "I'm so lucky I'm so tall so I carried small and also, I have to say, I had a birth that I was blessed with, a labor that was very good and a baby that was very good to me in that regard," said Kidman. "To be given this again is a beautiful thing. To have raised Bella and Connor (her adopted children with ex Tom Cruise) since I was 25 and now to be able to do it again at 41...wow."
LETTERMAN MOCKS MCCAIN CANCELLATION
David Letterman tells audience that McCain called him today to tell him he had to rush back to DC to deal with the economy. Then in the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?" Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his metamucil." "He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?" "What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

CLAY AIKEN IS GAY
Clay Aiken is on the new cover of People magazine, with the headline: "Yes, I'm gay." The American Idol runner-up, who has legions of "Claymate" fans, is posing with his new baby, and the secondary headline is: "The Idol star opens up about his emotional decision to come out: 'I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things.'" For years, practically from the minute he reared his bespectacled head on season 2 of American Idol, Clay has skirted (again, no pun intended) around this issue--even telling Diane Sawyer herself that she was "really rude" to grill him about his sexuality in a 2006 Good Morning America interview. He always made a big point of keeping his private life just that--private--but it seemed the quieter he remained, the louder all the gossip (and snarky jokes) became. Of course, promo photos of Clay's new look (frosty blonde highlights, inch-thick pancake makeup), or news than his son was conceived via medical intervention with his 50-year-old "best friend," didn't help matters. But Clay still kept mum, perhaps out of fear of alienating his adoring, mostly female fanbase.
MEG OPENS UP ABOUT QUAID BREAK UP!
Eight years after she split from hubby Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan is finally talking about the break-up. "Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time and that was very painful," she tells In Style. "I found out more about that after I was divorced." In 2000, Ryan had an affair with actor Russell Crowe, and the press unfairly blamed him for her marriage falling apart. "I think he took a big hit. But Russell didn't break up the marriage," she says. "He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn't his fault. I was a mess. I hurt him too at the end. I couldnt be in another long relationship, it wasn't the time for that, so I got out." Surprisingly, Meg says she didn't mind being vilified by the press. "My time as a scarlet woman was really interesting," she said. "As painful as it was, it was also incredibly liberating. Now I was utterly free. I didn't have to care about what people thought."

HULK HOGAN'S SON GETTING EARLY RELEASE FROM JAIL
Hulk Hogan's son Nick Bollea is getting out of jail nearly three months early with credits for good behavior and working, PEOPLE has learned. Bollea, who has been serving an eight-month sentence at Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, Fla., for reckless driving that led to an accident with injuries, is due to be released Oct. 21. The early release follows standard procedures for all inmates. "They automatically get credits towards early release, and if they don't do anything bad while they're here, they get to use the credits," says a jail official who did not want to be identified. Bollea was sentenced for his role in a car accident last year in which his passenger, 22-year-old John Graziano, was seriously injured. Bollea's sister, Brooke Hogan, tells PEOPLE that she is looking forward to her brother being released. "I'm not sure where he'll live. I think he's going to do his own thing," said Hogan, who was attending the anniversary party for Strike Miami, a ritzy bowling alley in Miami. Graziano's lawyer George Tragos of St. Petersburg, Fla., said he is not surprised to hear that Hogan is getting out early. "It's standard procedure," he tells PEOPLE. "There is no way for us to impact his release date, that's not within our control. It's a formula worked out by the sheriff."

MILEY DENIES SHE WANTS OUT OF MONTANA!
Over the weekend, TMZ reported that Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus have been acting up on the set of Hannah Montana, and openly talking about how Miley wants to get fired so she can get out of her contract. Well, 15-year-old Miley tells People that the story is completely false. "I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It's what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people," says Miley. "I couldn't do it alone. We have an amazing cast that is so supportive, including my dad who has been there for me every step of the way." A source at the Disney Channel says that Miley is "really upset by the gossip...She has a lot invested in Hannah Montana. It's not going away any time soon." THE DIRT ON ER'S LAST SEASON!
ER producers are still working on getting George Clooney to return this season, the show's last, but they have been able to woo several other old timers back. Anthony Edwards (Dr. Greene) and Noah Wyle (Dr. Carter) are already confirmed, and now comes word that both Laura Innes (Dr. Weaver) and Paul McCrane (Dr. Romano) have agreed to reprise their roles. Like Edwards, McCrane's character is dead, so they'll appear in a flashback. Another person expected to return is Alex Kingston (Dr. Corday), who'll bring Dr. Greene's daughter Ella back to Chicago. Greene's adult daughter Rachel is also returning to Chicago as a first-year med student. And never rule out Clooney. The last time he returned to ER, to help Julianna Margulies leave the show, his guest spot remained a secret until the episode aired.
TAYLOR'S TUNE ON GREY'S ANATOMY
Taylor Swift's song, "White Horse," will be featured in the two-hour season premiere of ABC's Grey's Anatomy Thursday. Taylor tells Billboard, "You should've seen tears streaming down my face when I got the phone call that they were going to use that song. I have never been that excited. This is my life's goal, to have a song on Grey's Anatomy. My love of Grey's Anatomy has never wavered. It's my longest relationship to date." "White Horse" will be on Taylor's upcoming sophomore CD, Fearless, which is due in stores November 11. She shares, "It's one of the songs that I am really proud of on the record because it's so sparse - it's guitar, piano and cello. It talks about falling in love and the fairy tales that you are going to have with this person, and then there is that moment where you realize that it is not going to happen. That moment is the most earth shattering moment."

DAVID BLANE'S UPCOMING STUNT COULD PROVE HARMFUL
The biggest danger for magician David Blaine when he hangs upside down above New York's Central Park for 60 hours next week? Going blind. That's the analysis of Dr. Massimo Napolitano of the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. He is the chief of vascular surgery and is advising Blaine on the stunt. Napolitano says hanging upside down for a long time increases blood pressure in the head, especially in the eyes. That could lead to blindness. The doctor doesn't say how long the blindness could last, but he says there's also a risk of swelling and cramps in internal organs.
LINDSAY LOHAN TOLD PLAYBOY NO
Sources say Lindsay Lohan turned down the chance to pose for Playboy. She was approached by Hugh Hefner to be photographed for the 55th anniversary edition of the famous men's magazine. The proposal followed provocative shots of the actress taken for New York magazine earlier this year. A rep for LinLo says, "If there's nudity, the answer is no. She's not going down that road again."

A MESSAGE FROM GEORGE MICHAEL
George Michael was arrested in London on Friday for possession of drugs. It's assumed that he was in possession of crack cocaine and pot at the time of the bust. According to reports, a suspicious toilet attendant tipped off police after Georgie was seen loitering in a public bathroom area in the fancy Hampstead Heath section of London. The BBC said that the singer was taken to a police station and given a 'caution' for possessing class A and class C drugs.
The drug-toting singer released this message for us all:
"I want to apologise to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I'll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them."

Police arrived at the home as part of Redmond's probation from an arrest last year on charges of possession of drugs while driving under the influence. Lindsay Lohan recently blogged about her dislike of Sarah Palin, but just because she's a Barack Obama supporter, doesn't mean the Democratic nominee wants her to stump for him. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Lindsay offered to host a series of Obama events for young voters but a Barack insider says she was turned down because Lindsay, "is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us." The McCain camp tried to twist the Lindsay brush-off in their favor, saying, "let me get this straight -- they turned away Lindsay Lohan, but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and convicted felon Tony Rezko? Maybe LiLo is just too upstanding for Barack Obama." But Obama's camp fired back. His spokesperson told TMZ, "Glad to see they're focused on the important issues over in McCain HQ."
MORE ON MILEY'S MAN!
15-year-old Miley Cyrus has been linked to a new fella, but sources say their friendship is nothing new. Sources tell E! that Miley and 20-year-old Nashville Star participant/underwear model Jason Gaston met three months ago in Nashville while she was filming Hannah Montana: The Movie and he was a contestant on the NBC program (which her father hosted). And while sources say the pair are "definitely hanging out" Gaston's modeling rep stresses the duo are not dating. "He and Miley are just friends. He's currently single," said the rep. "This isn't the first time they've gone to church together, just the first time the media's caught wind of it." And speaking of Miley, Variety reports that she has signed on to star in a yet-to-be-titled film written by The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks. Details of the plot are being kept secret.
MOMMA SPEARS TALKS TO TODAY!
Lynne Spears sat down with Meredith Vieira on yesterday's Today show to hawk her new memoir Through the Storm. During the interview, Lynne insisted that she didn't force Britney into showbiz, explaining, "Britney pushed me." Lynne says that because she was a single mom, she wasn't always around to protect Britney in the beginning of her career. "Did I want to be there? Of course! Was it feasible? It wasn't," said Lynne. She finally realized Brit's career was going in the wrong direction when her daughter posed nearly naked for her first Rolling Stone cover going on...Thank God (manager) Larry Rudolph came in and said, 'Stop, that's enough.'" But by that time the pictures were taken and they had no control over what the magazine would use. Lynne also admitted that she was easily sucked into the showbiz lifestyle. "It was more of an excitement at first. It seems everything's fabulous," she said. "That was the honeymoon period where it looked like she could do no wrong. Then there's the ugly side of fame...and we weren't ready for that." As for her daughter Jamie Lynn, who recently gave birth to a baby girl, Lynne says her daughter told her she was pregnant in a note. When asked if she blamed herself for what happened to Jamie Lynn, Lynne said that she always blames herself for everything. (See yesterday's About Last Night Morning for audio.)

"And 10 is the number that TRL counted down every single day for 10 years, and we hit this 10th (anniversary) and we thought, 'You know what? This feels like the right time and let's celebrate it and let's reward it. And let's let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute.' Let it catch its breath!" Sirulnick says that for the finale he hopes to get artists "who helped make TRL what it is whether that's Justin (Timberlake) and his guys in *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys, Britney, Eminem I think we would love to see all of them here." TONY ROMO TO THE ROADSIDE RESCUE
Forget about Triple-A. Got a flat? Call Tony Romo. Known for his heroics on the football field, the Dallas Cowboy star played hero to Bill and Sharon White on September 7, when the two found themselves stranded with a flat tire. The Irving, Texas, couple were trying in vain to mend the tire when Romo -- fresh off a flight from Cleveland where he and his team had beaten the Browns earlier in the day -- pulled up. Without realizing it was Jessica Simpson's who had come to their aid, the couple and the football star went at the flat tire together. After fiddling with the air compressor switch on the car jack, the tire inflated. "At that point," said Sharon, "I looked at him and thought, 'Dang, he looks familiar.' I go, 'You know what? You look like Tony Romo.' He looked down and just gave me that boyish smile he's got. Then he said, 'That's because I am.'" Sharon says she then screamed as loud as she could, grabbed him and hugged him.

I think she can wear dresses, but it was smart of her to break out a suit for her first appearance [at the RNC]. She should just run with her femininity."
