Florida's AMC Theatres Will Donate September 9th Box Office, Concession Revenues to Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund

If you see a movie September 9, 2004 at any AMC theatre in Florida, your ticket and concession purchases will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fundand your seat will cost just $5.

AMC Theatres, with 29 theatres in 24 Florida cities, is offering a $5 admission price valid all day Thursday, September 9, 2004 in its Florida theatres. AMC will donate its box office revenue and 100 percent of concession sales received on "AMC Hurricane Relief Day'" to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Company anticipates the promotion will result in a $100,000 donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

"Our goal is to attract as many people as possible to AMC theatres on September 9th," said Rick King, AMC Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications. "AMC, with support from our many distributors, wants to help support hurricane relief efforts. We hope to have a very busy day at all AMC Florida theatres."

The $5 tickets may be purchased at any Florida AMC theatre or online at MovieWatcher.com beginning September 2 for the September 9th shows.

"The Red Cross is incredibly grateful for AMC's creative and entertaining way of allowing communities across Florida to support our relief efforts," said Skip Seitz, Senior Vice President of Growth and Integrated Development at the American Red Cross. "Now, more than ever, it is important that Americans help their neighbors by donating to the Disaster Relief Fund."

AMC has 428 movie screens at theatres in the following cities: Ft Lauderdale, Davie, Hollywood, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Aventura, Coconut Grove, Miami, Altamonte Springs, Celebration, Orlando, Leesburg, Lake Buena Vista, Daytona, Ocoee, Sarasota, Clearwater, St Petersburg, Tallahassee, Lakeland, Brandon, Tampa, Oldsmar and Vero Beach.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of Hurricane Charley, Tropical Storm Bonnie and thousands of other disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
