If McCain wants to win the debate tonight he needs to point out the "crisis" is in large part due to the democrats blocking Fannie from being reigned in. That Obama in three short years is the second highest recipient of funds from Fannie Mae. Only Chris Dodd a democrat has taken more, and he had a thirty year head start. I think we can all agree that the two main issuse today are the economey and energy. My plan to get the economy rolling is simple. First drill, that's a no brainer. I don't mean the dems no drill plan that was passed that allows for drilling only 50 miles off the OCS where only 12% of the know oil reserves are located. Also drill ANWR and anywhere else where there is enough oil to make it profitable. The biggest arguement not to seems to be that it might affect the porcipine carabous' breeding. I find it hard think a carabou would be more bashful about mating than a human male in college and am pretty sure they would find a way to make it work. Moving on. We need to build some more refineries agian this will provide jobs aswell as lower the cost of gas so people can afford to travel and spend again while lowering the cost of virtualy everything we purchase. The dems are right coal is on it's way out atleast for America. China on the other hand is buildng some 800 billion mega watts of power plants and we should be mining the hell out of coal since we are the Saudi Arabia of coal and start selling it to them. We need to switch to 90-95% nuclear power so we can shut down our coal plants to export the coal. The construction of the plants along with them mining of the coal and the drilling of the oil will support all kinds of new buisneses. Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. Next we need to make ourselves attractive to investment again. Currently we have the second highest corporate taxes in the world and are one of the few nation to tax companies not only what is sold domesticly but overseas as well. If we raise them as Obama wants to then we can see more companies leave. We should lower the taxes if we truly want to bring up the economy. The only way to attract the succesful is to stop punishing success. Why is it that if I go rape or kill someone I can get a PHD for free in prison but it costs an arm and a leg for a law abiding citzen to get their degree.
