The campaign will let people earn T-shirts representing Hershey's classic brands.
Underwood, the 2005 "American Idol" winner and an Oklahoma native, will sing "Sometimes you feel like a nut ... sometimes you don't," for Almond Joy and Mounds; "Give me a break," for Kit Kat Bars; and "Hershey's is ... the great American chocolate bar."
In a news release from the chocolate company, Underwood said, "I have such great memories of growing up and enjoying Hershey's chocolate, I'm excited to be a part of this promotion singing the Hershey's jingles on TV and helping give away these fun, vintage T-shirts."
Jay Cooper, Hershey's vice president of U.S. chocolate brands, said having Underwood sing the songs gives a modern twist to the candy.
To get a T-shirt with one of five classic brand names Hershey's, Reese's, Kit Kat, Almond Joy and York brands chocolate lovers will have to send in 15 proofs of purchase and $2 for shipping and handling for each shirt.
Underwood and the nine other top finalists in the "American Idol" competition are on tour and will be at the Lloyd Noble Center Aug. 10.
Underwood also will be the spokeswoman for Skechers shoes in an ad campaign that begins in the fall.
