Double-platinum selling artist Carrie Underwood appears on the April cover of SELF, her first major women's magazine cover. Carrie flew to New York for the photo session just days after singing the national anthem at the NFC championship game in Seattle at the end of January. Carrie shares with SELF her new experiences with fans and how she's learned to deal with people's reactions to her since she was crowned the American Idol 2005 and released her debut album SOME HEARTS . She's often followed to the ladies' room for autographs, of which she graciously says, 'I appreciate that they're excited.' Carrie also reveals how she deals with stress. Her tips include taking bubble baths, indulging with chocolate and wearing her favorite sweats.

  Carrie celebrated the issue with SELF on March 15 at a party in New York City. She served as both host and guest of honor at Self Magazine and VH-1 Fifth Annual "Most Wanted Bodies" Event.
