Carrie Underwood, the GraduateOne week after entering Northeastern State University's Hall of Fame, Carrie Underwood exited the Tahlequah, Okla., institution. Carrie graduated magna cum laude Saturday from the school's College of Liberal Arts, with a major in mass communications and an emphasis in journalism. No special arrangement was provided for Carrie at the ceremony, other than her being the last student to receive her bachelor of arts degree.
Prior to participating on American Idol, Underwood needed one semester to complete her degree. Since the Idol win in 2005, she fulfilled the college requirements and graduated Saturday. Some Hearts, her debut album, has been certified triple platinum. Underwood will resume touring Friday (May 12).
