CMA Music Festival: Friday Night - Surprise! Kenny Chesney!MORE PHOTOS FROM THE SHOW HERE!
He had them from "Ladies and Gentlemen, Kenny Chesney." Some fans and critics had bemoaned the lack of superstar acts at this year's CMA Music Festival, but country's biggest act in fact, potentially the biggest touring act of 2006 in any genre showed up at LP Field on Friday night for a surprise set. Chesney's appearance could not be announced because of contractual obligations surrounding his July 8 LP Field show.
Wearing a Crosby, Stills & Nash T-shirt, Chesney came out to a thunderous standing ovation, and the crowd kept standing through a three-song set: hits "Live Those Songs," "Living In Fast Forward" and new chart-topper "Summertime." The performance was, to this point, the highlight of a festival that also featured surprise appearances from Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley.
Friday's (June 9) show also included Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Terri Clark, Billy Currington, Montgomery Gentry, Wynonna and Trisha Yearwood. More news from this amazing event
