Garth Returns to the OpryGarth Brooks was back at the "Grand Ole Opry" on Saturday night for the radio show's 80th birthday blowout, and seemed to be having the time of his life. After the show Garth said, "When I retired, I told them, call me if you ever need me, because I'm a member of this family. They never called me, it broke my heart. And finally, they called me for the 80th birthday." Brooks says he performed at the Opry House for the 65th, 70th, and 75th birthdays of the Opry as well. He says, "I'm enjoying it, and it's always an honor to be here."
Many of the artists shared their fondest memory of the Opry. Legendary performer Porter Wagoner told us he remembers watching Garth Brooks take the guitar off his own shoulder and hand it to a little boy in the audience, who had a toy guitar. He told us there wasn't a dry eye in the house that night.
