Keith Urban - Pop Star?
Is Keith Urban going to crossover to pop music? Pop and adult contemporary stations all over the country have been playing the ballad You'll Think of Me for nearly a year now — and Keith's record label had little to do with it. Seems when Keith played at the Nashville-based Country Radio Seminar 18 months ago, there were several non-country radio programmers who were blown away. You'll Think of Me got added to many adult contemporary stations, and after a year, the song has started to bleed over to pop stations. Does that mean Keith is changing formats? Will he be co-headlining with Kelly Clarkson next year? Nope. "This is a country career," declared Mike Dungan, chief at Capitol Records, Keith's label home. "If (You'll Think of Me) finds a home in the pop formats, wonderful, but we have no plans to develop him as that kind of artist." Still, Capitol Records isn't complaining: Keith's album Golden Road, which includes You'll Think of Me, is among the top sellers among previously released albums from all artists in all genres.

These photos are from Nov. 2001 photo shoot for USA Weekend....he looks kinda pop but luckily he outgrew that look! Click here for more recent hot shots of Keith....
