Kenny Chesney Announces Stadium ToursKenny Chesney was beaming yesterday morning at a news conference as he talked about his upcoming stadium show at the Coliseum in Nashville.
These days, country artists rarely play stadiums, yet Kenny has added nine football and soccer stadiums to his tour itinerary. For his July 8 show at the Coliseum, he is expected to draw a crowd of more than 50,000. "The biggest difference in arenas and stadiums is the size of the stage," Kenny said after the news conference. It took me about two stadium shows to get used to that. There's a reason why Mick Jagger runs around so fast when he's up there: There's so much ground to cover."
Kenny will tour with opening acts Gretchen Wilson, Little Big Town, Big & Rich and with Dierks Bentley, who showed up at Kenny's news conference. "I came here to be sure it's actually true that we're playing this place," Bentley said. from The Tennessean, Peter Cooper. Photos by Mark Humphrey
