Kenny Chesney's Qwest Field Show Is Highest Grossing Concert in Seattle Historyphotos by Joe Nicholson
Under blue skies and a lot of sun at Qwest Field in Seattle on Sunday, Kenny Chesney's "Road & The Radio" tour scored the highest grossing concert in the city's hisory. Qwest Field, home of The Seattle Seahawks hosted 44,582 fans grossed a total of $2,893,955.00!
"When they tell us we made more money than the Stones, Metallica, Madonna, Paul McCartney, U2, Van Halen's 'Monsters of Rock,' and Pink Floyd...knowing especially that we work to keep our ticket prices low, so the kids who wanna come see us can...that tells me that Country Music is plenty healthy."
Aside from two Rolling Stones shows and a Paul McCartney concert, Chesney's June 24th show is the biggest concert to play the Seattle market, going all the way back to 1980, according to Pollstar.
"We'll never forget that night, I swear to God," Kenny said. "That audience was amazing... they just came and they had so much fun. The thing about stadiums - some of those people are so far from you, so you work really hard to reach them. But this was like everybody was right up in my lap.
