After Rimes opened the television portion with her hit song Commitment, host Marty Stuart reminded the crowd why they were there. "The Mississippi coast is simply gone," he said. "But there is hope. The United States has helped rebuild entire nations. And we will rebuild the coast," he declared to loud applause.
