There's a reason why Toby Keith has been one of the top-drawing live performers of this century, and it isn't just because he's a multi-platinum music superstar and one of the most recognizable entertainers in the nation. The best explanation of Keith's touring success is found in his stout live performances themselves, delivered consistently night after night.
That dynamic music and stage show is the reason live music lovers come back year after year, why critics rave in review after review and why Ford Trucks (a company that knows a thing or two about long term success and consistency) is sponsoring Keith's tour for the fifth time. And so the Big Dog Daddy Tour opens June 21 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Named for Toby's upcoming album, which hits stores June 12 -- nine days before the tour launch -- the Big Dog Daddy tour has more than 50 dates scheduled through September. The tour is being promoted by Brian O'Connell of Live Nation, who was recently named Pollstar's 2007 Bill Graham Award/Promoter of the Year. Columbia Record's GRAMMY Nominated Miranda Lambert and Show Dog's Flynnville Train are also on the bill.
Aside from launching another blockbuster tour, Toby Keith has big plans for the remainder of 2007, following a career changing 2006. He's the producer of his upcoming album Big Dog Daddy -- a first for him -- and that undivided attention is already paying off. The album's lead single "High Maintenance Woman" is the fastest rising single in his career so far and is already a top 10 smash.
