Carrie Underwood is apparently ending her year in love. The former "American Idol" winner stepped out Christmas Day to support her new man, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. She was seen hugging the football star -- who was recently linked to Jessica Simpson -- on the field prior to the game, and cheered him on from the stands. Romo confirmed the relationship in an interview with his hometown newspaper. The sports editor for the Charleston, Illinois "Journal Gazette/Times-Courier" told Romo that his wife wanted to know if the rumors regarding Simpson were true. Romo responded, quote, "No. Tell her I'm dating Carrie Underwood." No word on how the couple met, but Carrie also paid a visit to Texas stadium last month, taking part in the Cowboys' game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thanksgiving Day.
