A New Deana Carter
Deana Carter has delivered the two most important packages of her lifetime: her first child, Gray Hayes Hicky, was born in September 2004 and a self-produced independent album is due in early 2005. In the Moment presents an intimate, uncensored and unprecedented look at a highly successful, highly motivated woman who is determined to have it all, on her terms. After the multi-platinum success of her 1996 debut, Did I Shave My Legs for This?, with its smash hit "Strawberry Wine," Carter continued to chart for nearly a decade. She went on to record a gold album for Capitol Records, but sales of her last release, I'm Just a Girl, were unimpressive, and her career seemed to have stalled. Yet, Carter isn't about to let anything or anyone hold her down. Her bubbly persona and mischievous sense of humor have seen her through all life's highs and lows. As this refreshingly independent woman prepared to give birth to both baby and song, CMT cameras were allowed unfettered access to the artist and her family. She sweats it out through her first pregnancy, determined to make it all work.
