George Strait Back on the Road
George Strait is back out touring. This shot is from his show in Charlotte last month. Just who is George Strait? This we know about Strait: He turned 52 last May, was born in Poteet, Texas, and owns three homes including a working ranch near Cotulla, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and holds a degree in agriculture from Southwest Texas State University. He and wife Norma have one son, George "Bubba" Jr. Daughter Jenifer died in a car crash in 1986. Strait rarely writes his own songs, so therefore few can say just how close his music comes to telling his story. Dierks Bentley said to look no further than the stage for a glimpse into Strait, the man. "The guy you see on stage is the same guy I see backstage after the show. He's all class," Bentley said. "He's approachable. You can't compare him with anybody else in this business. He does his meet and greets, and is so calm. He never gets upset about anything. He's real humble."
